Bristol bike fest 12 - DNF

Endurance racing (and I bet any other sport...) is not all about to be on the top at all the time. Everyone has a better and worst days. During my the last two races I was lucky, but yesterday Fortuna stuck her middle finger up for me.

MBUK 4 hour Enduro and Erlestoke 12

Just a quick update on my last two races! More interesting stuff is coming in few days time, so keep looking!

After a long wait finally I finished on the podium in my last two races. The season starter UK 24 hour Champ didn't go well and I wasn't really in the party on the Gorrick 100 either. I decided to race MBUK 4 hour Enduro and Erlestoke 12 in May.

Update on my last 4 races

I am over this season's first 4 races. They were the 24 hour Solo UK Champ, Southern XC , Gorrick XC and Gorrick 100. No podium finish yet, but I can't call it for a bad start after 18 months off from racing.
Results? Hmm...

Long Sunday

Hi everyone! I know, I still haven't written a single word about the 24 hour UK Champ and my last weekend XC race! I promise , I am going to do it very soon! For a meantime, I share with you my last Sunday!

I was racing my second XC race in this season! The last season, when I was racing cross country.... uh, I can't remember! I think it was 8 or 9 years ago! XC never been my sport, but I decided to do some during this season. It is very good for technical practice and a little speed workout.

Good Hemp Protein - or how you can keep your muscle mass during endurance training

Endurance athletes' one of the biggest nightmares is loosing muscle mass during and after hard training sessions, races. It doesn't make the situation easier and less complicated, if you are vegan!
If you say vegan, lots of people think on a skin and bone, unhealthy looking person. It is not true! Yes, most of vegan are very skinny and they do not carry around unnecessary muscle mass and excess fat! I am 62kg (183 cm) and my body fat is around 5%. I have enough muscle to be strong, very strong on the bike! My FTP is well over 5 watts/kg, it means I am a strong cyclist according to the papers....

Cyclops Roller - first impression

Roller is a great training tool! It develops balance, core strength and pedalling technique and you are more entertained than on a normal turbo trainer during the long and cold winter evenings. You can do any endurance session on easily and if you have resistance unit on it, you can bash harder interval/ strength sessions as well. I tried one couple of months ago and I got fully addicted after my first session. I had couple of fails (recorded our shop CCTV... ) and I was very unstable at the start, but now is much much better. When you think, you have a good bike handling skill and good balance, you should try a roller. I bet 90% of the cyclists are going to fail during the first try!

Friday report

Since I came back from Tenerife, the time is going so fast. After the 2 weeks "punishment", I had an easy rest week. I got recovered so fast thanks for the received treatments from SuppleWorX Martin and Good Hemp's protein supplements.I am back on the proper training again and I will have some "funny" sessions in this arctic weather over the next few weeks, but Gran Canaria trip is coming up soon!
